Released in 1996, this is Faye Wong’s third full-length Mandarin album. Of the ten tracks, eight were written and composed by Faye herself — an impressive showcase of her creative independence — with four of those being instrumental pieces, reflecting an unexpected experimental approach. The remaining two songs were provided by the Cocteau Twins.
Continuing her trailblazing work in the Hong Kong music scene, Faye solidified her status as a vocalist with a uniquely distinctive style, and with this album, she took a major step forward toward becoming an artist of truly international stature. The album contains ten tracks in total.
