Released in October 2013, 0 is Ichiko Aoba’s fourth album. While maintaining her signature style of singing with classical guitar, this work marks an evolution — her vocals, guitar, and songwriting all display a greater sense of expressive freedom. The album features the popular pop-tinged track “IkinoKori ● Bokura,” her first field recording piece “Mars 2027,” “Iriguchi Deguchi,” a cover of Yamada Anmi’s “Kikaijikake no Uchū,” which can be considered her artistic starting point, and “Harunatsu Akifuyu,” among others. With eight songs as before, the album unfolds over nearly 60 minutes — twice as long as her earlier works — weaving a richly detailed masterpiece. This densely crafted gem is now finally being released for the first time on vinyl as a double LP!
