Originally launched in October 1998 as the successor to the first Digital Monster series, the Digimon Pendulum became a hit LCD toy featuring an internal pendulum (motion sensor). To celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2023, Bandai has released updated color LCD editions:

  This is the first-ever reissue for the Deep Savers and Nightmare Soldiers color schemes.

Design & Display

While preserving the 1998 original body shape, the new version has been redesigned to incorporate a color LCD screen and a built-in rechargeable battery, all without increasing its size.
This is the first Digimon Pendulum with a color display, allowing not only full-color Digimon characters but also customizable background designs—something impossible on the original model.
Through communication with other versions, including the Digital Monster COLOR series, players can unlock new backgrounds.
The device charges via a USB Type-C cable (included).

Digimon Lineup

Each version includes 32 Digimon:

• Nature Spirits: Triceramon, Tailmon, and more

• Deep Savers: Rukamon, Plesiomon, and more

• Nightmare Soldiers: Wizarmon, LadyDevimon, and more
  Digimon from the “.5” versions (1.5, 2.5, 3.5) are also included, along with additional new ones.
  Some evolution routes can be unlocked by communicating between two different COLOR versions.

Jogress & Evolution System

The series retains the Jogress (DNA Digivolution) system — combining specific Digimon to evolve into newly designed forms, including some that were impossible to obtain in the 1998 versions.
Certain combinations across different versions also allow special Jogress evolutions.

• For example: Pendulum COLOR 1 + Pendulum COLOR 3 enable exclusive shared evolutions.

• Pendulum COLOR 2 contains one Digimon that can only evolve through Jogress with a future release.

Gameplay & Functions

Classic training and battle animations are faithfully reproduced, while the pendulum function now uses an accelerometer to detect motion. The number of shakes affects training results and battle power, just like in the original.
A solo battle mode is included for players who prefer to play alone.

Enhanced User Support

Compared to the 1998 model:

• Faster growth speed

• Cold Mode: Freezes Digimon’s growth and prevents hunger or muscle loss while paused

• Backup System: Allows saving one Digimon, which can also serve as a Jogress partner when no communication partner is available

Promotional Video

The promotional video is a tribute to the 1998 TV commercial featuring the iconic phrase “Monmon Digimon Sodateru Monmon” (“Monmon, raising Digimon Monmon!”). The new version recreates the scene of a man in swimwear dancing, with an updated arrangement of the original jingle for Digimon Pendulum COLOR.
