After the breakup of GOING STEADY, Ging Nang BOYZ was formed with a new guitarist.
Following numerous live performances and festival appearances, they finally break two years of silence to release not one, but two full-length debut albums simultaneously!
How many people have been waiting for this moment? It has been two years since GOING STEADY’s sudden breakup on January 15, 2003, and three and a half years since their de facto final album Sakura no Uta, which has now sold over 400,000 copies. This long-awaited release marks their spectacular return — an unprecedented debut with two full albums released at once!
Since the spring of 2003, when Ging Nang BOYZ was formed after GOING STEADY’s dissolution, the band has devoted themselves to songwriting while performing live. The albums feature not only brand-new Ging Nang BOYZ tracks, but also reimagined versions of songs from the GOING STEADY era, now reborn with new vitality.
From the breakup to the formation of the new band, and through vocalist Kazunobu Mineta’s lead role in the film Iden & Tity, the past two years of trials and transformations have been distilled into this album — a raw, unfiltered burst of sound brimming with conviction and a fiercely individual worldview.
In addition, two tracks, “Tokyo” and “Seishun Jidai,” were produced by YO-KING, and the recording sessions featured an impressive lineup of guest musicians including Youichi Ito (GOING UNDER GROUND), Yuichi Oki (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), and YUKI. The result is a work of remarkable quality and musical variety.
With this release, Ging Nang BOYZ is finally set to charge forward into the forefront of the music scene!
