銀杏boyz 「君と僕の第三次世界大戦的恋愛革命」
Two years after the sudden breakup of GOING STEADY on January 15, 2003 — and three and a half years since their de facto final album Sakura no Uta — GOING STEADY’s former vocalist, Kazunobu Mineta, has finally broken his silence with his new band, Ging Nang BOYZ, releasing not one but two debut albums simultaneously!
Although the band initially started as a kind of solo project for Mineta, it soon became a full-fledged group with the addition of former GOING STEADY members Masaya Abiko (bass) and Mamoru Murai (drums), along with Chin Nakamura (guitar) from BOYS NOW. From May 2003, Ging Nang BOYZ began full-scale activities.
The band’s sound is charged with raw emotion, reflecting all the twists and turns of Mineta’s journey over the past two years — from GOING STEADY’s breakup and the formation of his new band, to his starring role in the film Iden & Tity. The result is two albums bursting with an overwhelming sense of conviction and a uniquely unfiltered worldview — pure musical soul.
For this project, Mineta enlisted YO-KING to produce two songs, and the albums also feature guest appearances by Youichi Ito (GOING UNDER GROUND), Yuichi Oki (Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), and YUKI, among others. Together, they deliver a total of 14 tracks packed with passion and intensity.
