Exactly one year after her previous album Origami, Ichiko Aoba released her third album Utabiko in January 2012. Since her debut at 19, she had rapidly matured through various encounters and experiences, and the eight epic pieces born from within her reflect that growth. While still carrying the fragility and solitude of peering into her once-closed inner universe, this work gently opens a door outward, filled with tenderness and the warmth of sunlight filtering through the trees. Also included is a heartfelt cover of “Three Bears,” a classic song by her beloved Taeko Onuki and Ryuichi Sakamoto. This deeply moving work is now finally being released for the first time on analog LP!
