The film is directed by Masaaki Yuasa, known for works such as Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and The Tatami Galaxy. Voice cast includes Avu-chan from Queen Bee as Inu-oh, Mirai Moriyama as Tomona, and Tasuku Emoto as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. The story is based on the modern translation of The Tale of the Heike by Hideo Furukawa, which was recently adapted into an anime and gained widespread attention. This work serves as a continuation of The Tale of the Heike. The protagonist, Inu-oh, is a historical Noh performer who was active during the Muromachi period. The film is a musical anime centered on Inu-oh, and the music skillfully reflects the era and the meeting between a Noh performer and a biwa-playing priest, incorporating the sound of the biwa in a stylized, imaginative way.
