Since its first appearance in 1954, Godzilla has continued to captivate and shock audiences not only in Japan but around the world. Godzilla Minus One is a special commemorative work marking the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan, and the first Godzilla film of the Reiwa era.

The film is directed, written, and features VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, a self-professed Godzilla fan. Ryunosuke Kamiki stars in the lead role, with Minami Hamabe as the heroine. The cast also includes a lineup of accomplished actors such as Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki, who band together to face off against Godzilla.

The music is composed by Naoki Sato, known for scoring many of Yamazaki’s films, including Always: Sunset on Third Street, Destiny: The Tale of Kamakura, and The Great War of Archimedes. With its overwhelming visuals and powerful soundtrack, the film delivers an exhilarating cinematic experience.
