P-MODEL SCUBA 1984 Japan Cassette Tape Susumu Hirasawa
$979.00
Description
SCUBA is an unofficial album by the Japanese band P-MODEL, released on October 10, 1984, by JICC Publishing Bureau.
A re-edited CD version was later released by Captain Records on January 21, 1989.
Unlike the heavy sound of their previous work ANOTHER GAME, this album features a collection of songs with a much more pop-oriented tone.
Since both the songwriting and recording were carried out almost entirely by Susumu Hirasawa alone, the only other participating member was Miura. During the recording sessions, Kikuchi was dismissed after completing one or two tracks, and Tainaka’s departure had already been decided. As a result, Hirasawa personally handled the bass and drum parts using a KORG Polysix and KORG KPR-77.
Although SCUBA is often treated as an extra or side release rather than part of P-MODEL’s official album discography, its style and thematic elements went on to influence Hirasawa’s later solo work.
